I chose to write about the Victoria Secret fashion show that took place last night. This, for many people, is a big night on television. They say that this is the Super Bowl for women. The reason I chose to write about this is because so many women now a days think they have to be perfect to look good or have to have the perfect body to be eye appealing and to me I just don't agree with that. The amount of work that is put into making these women look beautiful is tremendous. Granted, they look astonishing when coming down the runway, but take a minute and type in some of these ladies names on google and see what they look like without all the make up and push up bras. The main reason I wrote this was because my neighbors girl friend was a model for the show, and yes she was a very attractive young lady, but she also said that some of the girls that are there are not that pretty to begin with. Getting to the point, you always here about women that wish they could look like that or wish they were that person when in reality you have to be proud of who and what you are and not what everyone else thinks. I personally think you have to be confident with your self image because you were made the way you are for a reason.

Art Painting in London
I chose to write this blog about an artist over in London who goes by the name of Damien Hirst, who at one point had his work netted at $200 million dollars. Early Monday, there was a report of someone stealing 33,000 pounds or $54,000.00 worth of his artwork paintings from a London art gallery. It was said that there was a witness who thought that they might have seen someone driving with the polka dot painting in there car. The article explains that whoever stole the paintings went thru and took the ones he/she wanted and left the "lesser of value" paintings behind. No one has been taken in to custody for stealing them as of today. The reason I did chose this article to write about is because I am an art major. I find art to be really interesting and I when I saw the article, it made me want to read it. Another reason I chose it was because in my eyes, there should never be someone who is able to steal a painting. Especially if it's worth a lot of money and in an art gallery, you'd think that people would be more on duty or they would at least have guards in the building watching over the gallery.

http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/showbiz/2013/10/23/sbt-10000-dollar-tip.hln.html
This article that I have looked up was about a waitress at a Ruby Tuesday who during the government shutdown had a couple of military men come in and grab a bite to eat. At the end of the meal when ready for the tab, Sarah, the waitress wrote on the back of the tab thanking the men for fighting for our country and due to the government shutdown, they were not getting paid, yet she was. So what did she do, she paid the $27 dollar tab by herself in honor of thanking the men for fighting for our country and doing what they do for us. Ellen saw this and brought Sarah onto her show and said she wanted to give her something. In return for doing the two soldiers a favor, Ellen gave Sarah a check or as the title says "$10,000.00 Tip". After being asked what she was going to do with the money, Sarah described how she would give some to a military charity, some debt and medical bills, school loans, and she wanted to get a new car. So what did Ellen do, she went out and bought a new car for Sarah as well. I chose this article because we just had Veteran's Day and I thought this was just a very courageous act of kindness that was understandably noticed by Ellen.
